Position Overview:

As a member of our sheet metal team, you must be a motivated, hard-working team player with a positive attitude and the ability to communicate, lead, and motivate crew members. This position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day needs of the project by ensuring safety, quality workmanship, production, and overall project success.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Communicate with Crew Members, Superintendents, and Project Managers
  • Attend pre-construction meeting/pre-job walkthrough with Project Manager and/or Superintendent
  • Accurately record crew member’s hours and resolve any timesheet disputes
  • Record daily logs to ensure quality, production, and proper job-site documentation
  • Ability to understand shop drawings and site plans
  • Ensure job site and crew adhere to OSHA safety standards for the duration of the project
  • Communicate and coordinate with customers and other trades as needed
  • Conduct/participate in weekly project meetings for scheduling, discussions, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor weather throughout the day to minimize risk of weather events
  • Ensure job is weather-ready at the end of each day (i.e., materials secured and job watertight)
  • Plan and communicate next day’s activities to maximize crew efficiency
  • Communicate labor, material, and equipment needs with Superintendent
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Staff to manage/track trailer inventory and restock as needed
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and job site to ensure a professional appearance
  • Ensure all tools are properly and securely stored to prevent theft or damage, and report any missing, damaged, or unsafe tools to the Warehouse Manager immediately
  • Be directly involved in the growth and development of crew members
  • Ensure project team is notified of any additional scope items prior to performing
  • Meet and maintain project hours and schedule to ensure project success

Requirements:

  • Pass initial employment drug test and participate in random drug test program
  • Represent the company in a respectable, reliable, and referable manner
  • Minimum 3 years construction experience
  • OSHA 30 Hour Training
  • Obtain certificates for operating equipment
  • Proficient math skills for calculating building areas, lengths, heights, and accurately using a tape measure
  • Self-motivated
  • DESIRED: Ability to pass a background check
  • Experienced in field measuring, layout, and installation of sheet metal flashing and trim.
  • Installation of Extruded Aluminum Systems, Fiber Cement, Aluminum Composite Wall Systems (ACM), Insulated Wall Panels, Standing Seam Roof Panels, Commercial Gutter and Downspouts, Conductor Heads, Sheet Metal Coping Cap
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with SMACNA standards and details
  • Willingness to learn new systems

As a crew member, you must be a motivated, hardworking team player with a positive attitude and ability to communicate. You will have the opportunity to become familiar with various roofing installation methods and materials specializing in “everything” roofing. This position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day production needs of the company by ensuring quality workmanship.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Help set-up, maintain, and clean-up project sites as well as warehouse to ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA at all times
  • Demonstrate great time-management skills, reliability, punctuality, and meet project deadlines
  • Must show up promptly to the job site, ready to complete high-quality work, requesting clarification or assistance when needed
  • Willingness to learn
  • Must demonstrate respect to customers, supervisors, and team members, communicating all concerns in a professional manner, adhering to JR & Co. standards of conduct
  • Must properly manage all assigned tools, equipment, and material
  • Understand the right and responsibility to report any safety concerns or issues and stop work.
  • Perform all activities necessary for projects with a hardworking positive attitude
  • Ability to perform elevated work routinely lifting and carrying at least 100 lbs
