Ascension Island marked JR&CO’s first OCONUS project. Completed in the summer of 2025, the work was finished in under two weeks to align with the project schedule and the island’s limited and inflexible flight availability. Because there was no access to the building prior to mobilization, the project depended heavily on pre-construction planning, existing drawings, and detailed coordination. Months of preparation were required to secure permits, clearances, specialized training, and early barge shipments for all materials and equipment.
Working with FiberTite Roof Systems, JR&CO developed and value-engineered a roofing system suited to the island’s environmental conditions. Several unforeseen structural and site-specific issues were encountered during installation, requiring on-site adjustments. The project was completed on schedule with no change orders. Before departing, the team also conducted complimentary evaluations of nearby facilities to support the client’s long-term maintenance planning. This project provides a clear example of JR&CO’s ability to manage and execute work in remote and logistically constrained environments.
