Burkert USA Corp. operates its American headquarters and manufacturing facility in Huntersville, North Carolina. JR&CO self-performed a combined roofing and solar scope there in two sequenced phases under one contract: first a mechanically fastened 60 mil reinforced white TPO overlay across 120,000 square feet, laid over gypsum coverboard with tapered crickets for positive drainage and finished with 2,291 linear feet of shop-fabricated steel counterflashing and drip edge; then a 469 kW DC rooftop array of 802 bifacial modules on ballasted racking.
The roof had to serve two purposes at once — a watertight 25-year membrane assembly and a structural platform for a utility-scale array — which meant every attachment and traffic path was resolved before the roofing crew left. Insurer requirements went beyond code and allowed no cabling to rest on the membrane at any point, governing conduit routing and module layout across the full field.
