Atlas 9 is an immersive gaming venue in Kansas City, Kansas, built new. JR&CO self-performed both the roofing and the exterior envelope — 37,000 square feet of Versico 60-mil TPO with associated flashings and metal, and a 30,000 square foot facade combining five distinct wall systems on a single building: Kingspan Granitestone and Optimo Smooth insulated metal panels, a Karrier backup IMP system, Trespa Meteon over hat channels and furring, and TEKKO metal wall panels.
The difficulty concentrated at the interfaces, where roof-to-wall terminations and transitions between cladding types had to reconcile different substrates, plane depths, and flashing details. JR&CO prepared shop drawings ahead of installation to establish how each system would terminate and meet its neighbor, then set vented channel components and aligned substrates in the field so the systems shared consistent planes. Holding both scopes removed the coordination seam that normally sits between two separate trades.
